Volunteer PositionsManna4life is looking for a couple that is willing to assist the founders of this organization in many different aspects. Kevin and Leakhena are looking for a couple with the experience/desire to preferably do most of if not all of the following: missions work, business responsibilities, emotional and spiritual support for the staff, assisting in a variety of tasks on site, contributing ideas and executing projects, experience in trades, and training the teachers. Though this may seem like a daunting list, a passion for Jesus and a willingness to be servant hearted is what matters most. Manna4life is in need of youth pastor and would benefit greatly from a volunteer youth worker. This job would require former experience working with youth and teaching the bible. This job would consist of planning, preparing, and leading weekly/daily events for grades 6-12 or younger. The events should be structured around fellowship, bible studies and exciting worship. Further, one should be able to recognize students with potential for leadership and training them into such positions. This position would consist of a photographer who has a passion for justice and wants an opportunity to serve and spread the good news through video art and photographs. This volunteer work will require an established photographer capable of gaining followers on social media by capturing the daily workings at Manna4life. Photographs and videos will also be used for fundraising events and online fundraising. This position requires that of a semiprofessional writer who is willing and interested to write fundraising proposals and business proposals for Manna4life’s vision. Manna4life is planning on creating a profitable farm and eventually a restaurant that need a professional business plan. This position would not require the individual to come here although it would be helpful. This job consist of teaching grade school kids to young adults and will need someone who is proficient at explaining the workings of technology. The computer teacher will need to be able to teach applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop. Further, they should be able to repair and maintain computers, hardware and software wise. Manna4life needs someone who is fluent in English and relatively fluent in Khmer so that they would be able to teach English to the staff and teachers at the learning center, as well as the students. Manna4life would love to have someone who can inspire kids to be creative. This would not just be limited to painting and drawing, but also dance, drama, etc. Volunteer Positions with Skill TransferenceManna4life needs someone to assemble and run their aquaponics system, and design a sustainable and profitable farm. The farm will consist of but is not limited to, various livestock, orchards, garden beds with vegetables, greenhouses, hydroponics, aquaponics, vermiculture, and natural fertilization. This position will require someone with experience in these areas and have a passion to get a new farm project up and running. Further, they should be training some of the locals during their time here so that locals can continue to run the farm on their own. Manna4life is looking for someone to advise them with curriculum design for their learning center, and educate their staff in how to teach more effectively. Cambodian schools are still plagued with rote memorization learning so we would love someone who can implement curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking and creativity. The following positions are short term ranging from three months to a year. The School year runs from November 1st to August 31st. Contact us to find an ideal time to come. Interns will have the opportunity to live with homestay families in the community. The family will provide you with a simple breakfast and dinner, and lunch will be eaten with the staff in the staff house. There is also the option of staying in the staff house if staying with a host family is too big of a step, but we encourage those once here to make the transition quickly as individuals almost always come to love their host families once they start living with them. Interns are responsible for covering their own expenses including flights, insurance, travel, etc.
Make sure you arrange appropriate medical insurance, which must include medical evacuation. The following is a list of recommended vaccinations. It is only a guide and we strongly advise you that you consult your medical professional to ensure the appropriate vaccinations for your trip to Cambodia.
The outcomes of your time as an intern with us depend a lot on your own posture of learning and engagement. To prepare for joining us, we will ask you to read a few articles and a couple of books to help you consider the history and context of the place you will be immersed in. Come to learn and be impacted by what God is doing among the poor and this will be a life-changing experience. During your internship, there will be staff who you can talk to about adapting, learning and debriefing.
